Down 7-0 + Extra Innings + Come back = Best little league game ever!

So if you have notice the background of our blog has changed. Our family is a family that loves baseball! Thanks dad for taking me to all the games you did when I was a kid!!! Anyway, it is baseball season, the Cubs are playing, spring is in the air...life is good.

Today was our first game for our Rookie League Cubs team. Jason is the manager, and he is a really good one I might add. So, today was our first game.

We were in the second inning against the Athletics and it was 3-0, we were losing. They were good, but we kept having fun. Jason's 3 things for a team are 1. Teamwork 2. Sportsmanship 3. Fun. At the end of the 6th inning we needed one run to tie, and we got it! We headed into extra innings. The other then scored another run. We had to get one to tie again or two to win it. We had two guys on and Ian came up to bat. John was up after Ian. Ian had two strikes and he nailed the ball in the outfield. The other two boys scored with the second sliding into home for the win! We won 9-8! It was such an exciting game! The boys never gave up!!! Go Cubs Go!!

Fortnight

Yes, other than my post yesterday it has been a fortnight since I have written. I thought that I would give a summary of what was missed:

We went on an Easter Egg hunt!

Jason went with the youth group to the Wolves hockey game! Tyler and Jason stayed with the boys and they were able to get autographs of all the players. Too many pictures to show!

We went to the zoo and they have a new exhibit on the dinosaurs. Our oldest liked this sign, he seems to love anything with poop in it.

Then we hosted our own 1st Easter Egg hunt at our church. This is our family trying to get a shot with our Easter Bunny.

All the cousins at Easter.

It has been awhile

It has been a couple of weeks that I have posted and this one is not going to be a long one either. It has been a couple of crazy weeks...huge event undertakings, Easter preparations and executions, visitors (and still more to come...which are fun!), death of our dear Addie at chruch and funeral, homeschooling and life. I am tired, exhausted and thankful for the Lord to lean on with all that is going on. The question I always get is, "How do you do it." The simple answer, "Only through God and prayer." This is true. Here is a dear tribute to such a great friend. She will be dearly missed. I have not met a more unselfish, unconditional loving woman of God like Addie. Please take a moment to celebrate such a wonderful life! This video was made by my husband for her funeral.

Wacky Wednesday

Ok, so I get the Family Fun Magazine, which I would totally recommand to anyone who does not presently own it. Anyway, every year they have ideas to have fun on April Fools Day. This year I finally did their ideas:

I turned their cereal milk blue! Jason told them that there was a new cow that made milk that turned blue when you poured it on your cereal. The girls bought it no problem. Our oldest looked at us like we had gone crazy. It took him a while even after we told him it was for April Fools Day to partake of his breakfast. 8-)

This was our lunch! Fishsticks (sugar wafer cookies coated in peanut butter and rolled in crushed cornflakes) with dipping sauce (seedless strawberry jam) and peas (rolled up green taffy). This is the kids enjoying their wacky lunch! They thought those were the best fish sticks they had ever had! Don't worry normal food eventually followed!
