So, a couple of weeks and I am posting something. Now that school AND everything else is in full bloom my blogs will probably be less and less. I really shouldn't be blogging now, but oh well a couple of minutes won't hurt, will it?? There has been a few things going on, the most important would be THE CUBS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!! Maybe not exciting to you, but totally exciting to our family as we are 100% CUBS FANS!!! We are headed to Milwaukee to see them play this weekend. I can't wait! I was hoping they would wait until this weekend to clinch, but hey you can't get EVERYTHING in life! 8-) Just hoping now to somehow get playoff tickets!! Know anyone that just wants to give them up??? 8-) Other than that I had a bad stomach something a couple of weekends ago and ended up in the ER due to dehydration. Never want to do that again: mouth clentched, hands paralysed, numb legs, not being able to control my movements. Jason was freaked. I am actually schedule to have a c-scan sometime soon just to make sure all is ok up there in the head (some of it was not a symptom of dehydration, that with some more recent headaches...just checking to make sure). School is going great and the kids are doing well. I still can't believe that October is breathing down our necks, Christmas will be here before we know it!!! 8-) well, now I am just babbling because I don't want to stop posting because then I would have to go and do some cleaning...does it EVER end???? Anyone want to get me a Roomba for Christmas???? 8-) j/k Till next time....Oh, wait...did anyone see Zambrano's NO HITTER??? I did. It was amazing...at the Brewers stadium...priceless!!!

One down, three to go!
Today it is official, John has started to do his own laundry. Yes, he has and he has had a great attitude about it to. It all started when he started complaining that I didn't have certain outfits ready when he wanted them. So I was trying to figure out a good discipline for this issue considering I think he should be quite grateful that I am even cleaning his clothes!! 8-) So I happened to come across someone that had written that her kids started doing their laundry when they were 7, yes 7! Well, what a coincidence...John is going to be seven too, and VERY SOON! So Jason and I decided that if he complained again about the lack of the perfect outfit being readily available that he would have start doing his laundry when he turned seven. We told him, and he was not happy (but what kid really likes being told he might have to do his laundry?). A few weeks later, looking for whatever perfect outfit happened to be that day, he said it again and started to complain that I was not doing laundry fast enough. Hello, I do two loads a day just to stay caught up. Isn't that enough??? Anyway, it was confirmed then and there he had to start. His reply, "Mom, I can't do my own laundry, laundry is for girls." Yes, those are the words he said. I know it took a few moments for the shock and anger to subside. My husband was thankfully in the room, and defended his actions with laundry and then told him that HE would show him exactly how to do laundry. So, today it began. After he washed and dried his clothes my favorite part of laundry began. After two clothing items he was tired of folding. Wait, he wasn't too tired of folding, apparently he was too tired TO fold. I know it can be quite exhausting...It was cute to watch him do it today and it made me smile. The girls started asking when THEY can start doing their laundry...oh not too long, not too long. 8-) I am very proud of John, he did a great job today! One down, three to go!!!

A Reminder that Life is Short...
So yesterday was an intense day. My father-in-law went in for his second brain surgery. For those that don't know he was diagnosed with brain cancer about a year and a half ago. He has been doing AMAZING! The doctors constantly say he is the miracle man. The chemo has not really effected him too much and he has continued to go on with life as normal, just a few extra naps. 8-) This weekend they got a call from the neurosurgeon stating that they wanted to do another surgery. There had been some recent tests that looked like something was going on and they needed to get in there to make sure everything was OK. They had one day to make the decision, so yesterday he went in. After about 6-7 hours in surgery he came out and is doing better in recovery than the first surgery to remove the tumor. The doctor said that 90% of what was in there was residual affects of the radiation and 10% was being sent off for biopsy. The best scenario of what could happen. Praise God! My father-in-law is such a trooper and I have seen him grow through this and he never ceases to amaze me. I am so proud of him!
During that same joy some news of a dear friend of our family growing up was on a cruise in Alaska with her husband for their anniversary. Yesterday she collapsed with a brain aneurysm and died within the hour. My mind is still boggled by what her husband must be going through. One moment enjoying a cruise and the next without his life long partner, on top of that away from family and friends. A reminder of the fact that life is so fleeting, so short and we never know when our bodies are done. As I continue to pray for the family my heart also wants to remind others...where are you? What if that happened to you? Do you know where you will spend eternity? It is blunt, but important and true! This life is fleeting, we are constantly wasting away, because of our sin we are all dying! It is such a sad realization, but true! We are all dying, BUT there is HOPE! Thankfully, our wonderful maker and creator God did not leave us alone, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for those sins that cause death so that we might LIVE again!!! So when this world is gone, or we are gone from this world that there is something to look forward to, FOREVER with Him in Heaven! Amazing, I always feel so loved that He thought of me, ME to save me from my sins so I could be perfect and live FOREVER and all I have to do is ask Him. That is it! Just ask! How cool is that! How simple He made it, we don't have to do anything but believe what He said and ask him to save us!!! Thankfully, for our dear friend she loved God with all her heart, and I know that it is sad she is gone, but I WILL see her again in Heaven FOREVER! What a comfort and a celebration for her that she is now with her Maker! I want you to remember...this life is short, unknowing, full of death...BUT there is something to look forward too if you have asked and accepted what Jesus did for you. If you haven't ask Him today...you will be FOREVER grateful!!!

John's 7th Birthday...yep, 7, I can't believe it either!
Well, it was a pirate party to the fullest! The soundtrack of Pirates of the Caribbean made it so much more fun! I still can't believe he is seven. I will post a link so you can see more pictures soon. Argh, Matey!

I am feeling 30 this week...maybe even older...
Enough said. This past week I have actually felt like I am 30. Usually I feel like I am 21 still, not this week. Hopefully, I will get back to my usual 21 soon. I miss 21.
First Movie Review - Definitely, Maybe
So not like I am a movie critic or that anyone really cares, but Jason and I rented Definitely, Maybe last night and it was really cute! I thought it was well written, they chose the right actors and it was just a really good movie to watch. So if you are looking for a movie to curl up on the couch and enjoy try this one. It made me cry, laugh and relax. I say that is a great movie! I hope you like it as much as I did.
